Tanzania has been the focus of our passion for East Africa for a very long time. It remains a truly exciting country to visit, with some of the best opportunities for safaris in all of Africa. The wildlife is thriving, the landscapes are stunning and the Tanzanians are truly welcoming. We hope that you will let us show you around...
The Ngorongoro Crater is the best place in Tanzania to see the 'Big Five' and is an absolutely beautiful place to be on safari. Unavoidably, the Ngorongoro Crater is busy, at times very busy, but given it is one of the worlds most amazing natural wonders, it is going to be busy. However, due to the crowds we recommend a 2 night stay only, after that the safari time should be spent in the Serengeti.
Located in southern Tanzania, the Selous Game Reserve is Africa's largest game reserve and one of our favourite game viewing areas in Africa. It really is a hidden gem! It’s much quieter than the Northern parks, the rivers and lakes of the Selous are the lifeblood to a park that hosts phenomenal volumes of game including Africa's largest elephant and wild dog populations and probably it's largest buffalo, hippo, crocodile and lion prides.
Travel writers have often named Mnemba as one of the top beaches in the world, certainly in Africa. Mnemba is the ultimate definition of barefoot luxury, one of the few places where you can snorkel straight off the beach and onto pristine reef. Owned and run by &Beyond, the food and service is top class- however, all this does come an eye watering cost…
The best beach lodge in east Africa! As a company we have explored the entire coast and there nowhere that gets near to Ras Kutani. It is ‘bare foot beach luxury’ at its best and comes at fantastic value. It is secluded, private and spectacularly beautiful. Team this with fantastic rooms, lovely food and great service and we have ourselves a champion of beach lodges.
Singita Faru Faru is one of our very favourite lodges. Run by Singita, the lodge is the lovechild of Paul Tudor Jones (a billionaire who runs them as his playthings!) and Faru Faru can be counted as probably the best safari lodge Tanzania. One of three of their supreme properties (Sasakwa and Sabora being the others) it forms part of the private Grumeti Reserves, situated in the west of the Serengeti. Yet because it’s a private park you can night drive, horse-ride and walk. A modern interpretation of a classic safari lodge, it has intimacy, luxury and excellent guiding in spades.
