A Northern Circuit Flying Safari
This itinerary encompasses the main parks in the north and is a private safari. Whatever your budget, a private safari is only slightly more expensive than a minibus safari with 6 other people.
Day 1: Lake Manyara National Park You are met in Arusha and depart for Lake Manyara National Park, to enjoy a short game drive in this small but very attractive park.
In the early evening, continue up the Rift Valley escarpment to the Kirurumu Tented Lodge, which is set upon the edge of the Great Rift Valley and enjoys commanding and panoramic views of Lake Manyara and the surrounding area.
Days 2-4: Serengeti National Park Drive to the Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti, undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, is home to the highest density of game in Africa as well as being unequalled for its natural beauty.
The vast bellowing herds of wildebeest move north through the Serengeti from February to July and return from the Maasai Mara in late September. Morning and afternoon game drives to enable you to follow some of the millions of animals and the daily drama of their lives. Three nights at the Serengeti Serena or Sopa Lodge
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania's 'secret garden' which contains a hidden world of teeming wildlife.
Descend 2000 feet from the lush rain forest on the rim to the savannah bush and acacia woodland on the crater floor for an afternoon of game viewing.
Drive back up to the crater rim in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight at the Ngorongoro Serena or Sopa Lodge.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater After an early breakfast leave for a full day in the crater following and photographing the animals.
Return for the night at the Sopa or Serena lodge
Day 7-9: Zanzibar's Stone Town In the morning return to Arusha, with a picnic lunch en route, in time for the Precision Air flight direct to Zanzibar.
Met on arrival and transferred to the Tembo hotel for 3 nights in Zanzibar's historic Stone Town.
Day 10-14: Zanzibar's Indian Ocean Beaches In the morning, drive from Zanzibar's Stone Town to Ras Nungwi on the northern most tip of Zanzibar. Ras Nungwi is widely considered as the most beautiful beach on the island and the hotel (also called Ras Nungwi) is situated mere feet from the sparkling ocean.
Guests chalets are designed in a simple Swahili style with balconies from which to enjoy the sea views.
