Royal Palm Situated in Dar es Salaam, this is one of Dars very best hotels, the top of the range in the town centre. Its grand central elevation makes it a good landmark, and for years it has upheld its enviable position as the only upmarket option in Dar. (although this is now somewhat challenged)
Its pristine atmosphere is immaculately preserved by the chill of its air-conditioning throughout and with all the mod cons of a westernised hotel, including hairdressers, travel agents and a BA service desk, this is a good option for a couple of days in Dar. The good patisserie is worth visiting for self-indulgent treats, and the garden provides a pleasant and relaxing haven for a ludicrously expensive pot of tea or a beer. There is also an attractive swimming pool set aside in private gardens overlooking Dars best golf course.
Royal Palm – Tanzania Odyssey View
Dar es Salaam does not offer much and therefore a hotel with all mod cons, in close proximity to the town centre (and golf course) is a welcome break from the towns somewhat hectic atmosphere. The restaurant Tradewinds, is one of the best in the city and a great place for a final nights dinnner when staying in the city.
