Alex Walker's Serian - The Detail
From March to December Serian is located south of Ndutu, in the Ngorongoro Conservation area. This is a superb location away from the other camps but with excellent migration viewing. Most of all, it is remote and allows for a real cultural experience as well as walking safaris.
From July to mid November Serian is located in the northern Serengeti in the Kogatende area by the Mara border. Here the camp is even more remote and can still offer walking safaris.
Alex is a seriously good guide who is famous for years spent running safaris with his other Serian camps in the Masai Mara. Alex privately guides some the worlds most famous people and is known for unbeatable skills in the bush.
Serian is famous for offering a true safari experience away from the crowds and Alex prides himself in getting you into the quiet wild areas of the Serengeti. There are many different mobile tented operations in the Serengeti nowadays but in our view it is very difficult to beat the operation that Alex runs.
The guiding is exceptional and there is a great atmosphere and experience on offer that none of the other Serengeti camps can get close to. All his staff have been with him for years and even when Alex is not in camp, it makes no difference. The guides and hosts are all as good as each other.
