Other Lodges
Nsefu Nsefu has one of the finest views of all, the Luangwa camps. We would actually say that Nsefu has one of the best locations of anywhere in Africa! Located in on a wide bend in the Luangwa river, Nsefu was actually one of Norman Carr’s first hunting camps.
However in the years that followed, Robin Pope Safaris have taken over the running of Nsefu and the camp is well regarded as one of Pope’s leading properties, keeping the lodge in the same design as the old ‘hunting lodge’ it was set up as long ago.
The main areas and all the rooms are set back from the river bank by 50 yards, all facing the river with spectacular views. The bar and dining areas are at each end of the camp, connected by a canopy of trees that provide a shady area to relax in. The 6 rooms are thatched rondavels with decking areas and en suite bathrooms, each beautifully decorated inside. The 50 yards that separates the rooms from the river bank is an expanse of grass where dinners are occasionally served under the stars and breakfast is laid out.
The area around camp pumps with big game and subsequently the Walking safari here is exceptionally good. The location of camp, away from the crowds means that the area for game drives is as exclusive as the Luangwa’s commercial areas can be and with the Luangwa allowing night drives Nsefu’s night safari pretty much guarantee leopard.

Nsefu – Zambia Odyssey View
The best location and views in the Luangwa and one of the best camps at that! Great guiding as is standard in all Pope camps, superb rooms and excellent quality safari all around. The food and service is excellent and the fly camping trips that set out between Tena Tena and Nsefu are some of the best in Africa. As you have probably guessed, we love this camp!
