The Sultans Palace This is located overlooking the calm, azure blue waters of the Indian Ocean is an Italian resort with some of the best rooms on the Island.
Accommodation is arranged in fifteen shell shaped spacious cottages which are individually furnished with local antiques, carved doors and hand painted tiles. Each room has air conditioning and a mini bar. The hotel also offers five imperial suites; which have their own private entrance, garden, hammock and direct beach access, four Ocean Suites with stunning ocean views and six garden suites. Dinner is served on candle lit terraces perched on a cliff edge with spectacular ocean views. Food combines both mellowed Mediterranean influences and the spices of Zanzibar. with freshly caught seafood.

Although the food and accommodation at the Sultans Place is impressive the hotel is located very near a chain of Italian hotels, has no pool and has steep steps to the beach. It is again, a real shame that this hotel does not live up to what it could do.
