Etosha National Park
Saltpan, woodland and grassland habitats. Access by road from Otjiwarongo or Tsumeb or by light aircraft. Open all year round. Comfortable accommodation available. Animals living in the park include antelope, cheetah, dik dik, eland, elephant, gemsbok, giraffe, hartebeest, impala, kudu, leopard, lion, rhinoceros, springbok, wildebeest, zebra and 340 species of birds.
Khaudom Game Park
Scrub and semi desert. Access by poor road from Grootfontein or Rundu or Katima Mulilo. Open all year round although very difficult access particularly in the wet season and access is only permitted to four wheel drive vehicles. Basic accommodation available. Animals living in the park include antelope, elephant, hunting dogs, zebra and a variety of birds.
Mahango Game Reserve
Access by difficult road, only permitted by 4 wheel drives. Camping accommodation available. Animals living in the reserve include elephant.
Namib-Naukluft National Park
Desert and semi desert. Access by road from Windhoek, Walvis Bay or Lderitz. Open all year round, access is not permitted to the diamond area. Camping accommodation available. Animals living in the park include cheetah, klipspringer, kudu, leopard, springbok, zebra
Skeleton Coast Park
Sand dunes and dry scrub land. Access by difficult road from Swakopmund. Open all year round. Comfortable accommodation available. Animals living in the area include elephant, giraffe, lion, rhinoceros and a wide variety of birds.
Waterberg Plateau Park
Savannah and woodland. Access by road from Otjiwarongo. Reasonable accommodation available. Animals living in the park include antelope, buffalo, bushbaby, cheetah, hunting dog, rhinoceros, tsessebe and 115 species of birds.
West Caprivi Game Park
Access by road from Rundu or Katima Mulilo. Comfortable accommodation available. Animals living in the park include crocodile, hippopotamus and a wide variety of birds.
