A scheduled departure mobile tented safari for the involved naturalist wishing to explore three distinct ecosystems. Undertaken at a leisurely pace to allow detailed exploration in each safari area. The itinerary is extended to visit the coast.
1996 Departure Dates: Jan 26; Feb 23; Mar 29; Jul 26; Aug 30; Sep 27; Oct 25; Nov 29.
FRI Day 01: Depart from London on the British Airways flight to Nairobi.
SAT Day 02: Very early arrival into Nairobi where you are met and transferred to the NORFOLK HOTEL where you have the opportunity to have a sleep, shower and breakfast. Later, you are met for the departure of your safari, driving north to Meru National Park where three nights are spent in a PRIVATE TENTED CAMP (full board).
TUE Day 05: Morning departure, driving north around Mt. Kenya and through the northern edge of the Aberdare mountains to descend into the Great Rift Valley for two nights in a PRIVATE TENTED CAMP in Lake Nakuru National Park (full board).
THU Day 07: Morning departure from Lake Nakuru for the Masai Mara where the final four nights of your safari are spent in a PRIVATE TENTED CAMP, situated on the western edge of this famous reserve (full board).
MON Day 11: Morning game-viewing before driving to an airstrip where you connect with your air transfer back to Nairobi. On arrival, transfer to Jomo Kenyatta Airport and connect with the late afternoon scheduled flight to Mombasa. Arrive and transfer to the SERENA BEACH HOTEL for five nights (half board).
SAT Day 16: Most of the Day at leisure. In the evening, transfer back to the airport and connect with your scheduled flight to Nairobi. Here you connect with the late evening British Airways flight back to London. Overnight in flight.
SUN Day 17: Morning arrival into Heathrow/Gatwick.
Includes international flights on British Airways (economy); internal scheduled; transfers; twin accommodation on board basis mentioned; all game-viewing activities; park fees where applicable; laundry on safari; U.K. airport taxes.
