Sabora Plains CampSabora Plains Camp represents a return to an enchanted time. For those who had the adventurous spirit and the means to go on safari in their grandest manner, the 1920s and 30s were a golden age. Now at Sabora, that bygone era lives on in a setting of overwhelming grandeur: a plain that spans the horizon, a great blue vault of sky overhead and the age-old passage of wildlife beyond numbering.

Sabora Plains Camp– The DetailSet in the heart of the open Serengeti grasslands, Sabora Tented Camp is a truly beautiful heritage camp. Decorated in grand campaign 1920s style, with original antiques and opulent rugs, the 9 lavish Bedouin-style tents are deeply romantic. Four poster beds and intricately carved bedroom furniture (including original, collapsible wooden toilets), plush velvet curtains and flower filled vases conjure Out of Africa dreams, whilst in-tent air conditioning, a Swarovski spotting scope, heated pool and Jacuzzi are all signs of the best in modern convenience. Thousands of wildebeest surround can surround Sabora from June to middle of August as the great migration passes through the Reserves on its journey towards the Mara. The experience here is unlike any other in the Serengeti during this period – and thought he animals are noisy, their density and determination make for a phenomenal wildlife experience! As part of the Grumeti Reserves, Sabora Plains Camp is set in a private reserve which offers horse riding, walking safari, archery, tennis and bike riding, amongst other activities
Sabora Plains Camp – Our ViewThis camp epitomizes everything the Serengeti is famous for….and what’s more the reserve is private meaning it is rare to see another vehicle whilst on safari! Set right in the heart of a massive typically Serengeti plain Sabora has a superb level of service, guiding….everything to be honest! Absolutely superb in the migration months and perfect out of these for a truly luxurious safari, Sabora, as with all Grumei Reserve camps is actually a destination itself. We love Sabora – is it better than Faru Faru, well that is a debate we have had in the office since Faru opened. We still debate…..the reality is that this is one of the finest camps in Tanzania, it is a simple as that!
