Sabora is a super luxury permanent tented camp in the Singita owned Grumeti Reserve in the west of the Serengeti; it’s one of the top lodges in Tanzania and ideal for any Tanzania safari. The lodge sits right on the plains and during the months of May and June this area is covered in wildebeest as the migration passes through.  The whole camp takes the feel of a traditional safari camp from the 1920’s, with antique furnishings and carefully designed, spacious tents.  But Singita has certainly put its mark on the camp; with world class cuisine, great swimming pool and an unbeatable safari experience.

Singita Sabora Serengeti - The Facts

SIngita Sabora is located in the private Grumeti Reseve, which is an exclusive game reserve attached to the western corridor of the Serengeti National Park.  There are only 3 properties in this whole game reserve - all owned by Singita - a world class Tanzania safari company.  It is possible to access the 3 properties in the reserve from Sasakwa airstrip and there are schedule flights from all over the North of Tanzania and Dar es Salaam.

The main area of the lodge is raised on a wooden platform, with tented dining areas and lounges packed with beautiful antique furniture.  At the front is a large veranda with views as far as you can see across the Sabora plains and an area which is ideal for meals under the stars. There is a small swimming pool off to the side of the lodge.

The spacious guest tents are spread out with views onto the plains and decorated to the highest standard offering a very luxurious tented safari experience.  The rooms are air conditioned with electricity and spacious bathrooms.

The Grumeti Reserve offers exclusive game viewing within the reserve in open sided vehicles.  There is also walking safari upon request.  Within the reserve Singita offer an excellent horse safari as well as a mobile luxury camping Serengeti Safari experience - Singita Exolore.

Another suggestion you made was to split our original 6 nights at Faru Faru with Sabora.  We spent the initial 3 at Sabora and found it VERY difficult to leave.  We were advised by Elly at Sabora that we could visit Faru Faru for lunch and if we so chose we could stay at Sabora for the final 3 nights. We did!    The staff at Sabora, Sammie, Wilson, Elly, Adas, Halfun and Jeremiah were outstanding!!
