Beyt al Chai Located in Zanzibars Stone Town, it is a pretty house that was at one time a tea house belonging to a wealthy Zanzibarian merchant. Situated directly opposite the Serena Inn, personal service and an oasis of tranquility in the otherwise busy surrounds of Stone Town, this is a fanstastic choice.
With just 6 en suite rooms, the inn has an intimate and private feel. Horsehair sofas, bold batics and finely crafted Zanzibari furnishings complement a rich palette to create a convincingly authentic traders house. All the rooms are air conditioned, and a couple have wide stone baths.

In our view a great place to stay for a couple of days. The layout of the inn gives a real feeling of staying at a friends house, and thus it is very relaxing. Run by Agnes, the inn is well located overlooking the beautiful Kelele Square, and is a mere stones throw from the twisting streets of the main town. The best rooms here are definitely the Sultan and Princes room, the Sultan room also have fantastic view out over the square. A real alternative to Emerson & Green.
