Tanzania Safari Holidays and safari tours & vacations including Zanzibar

Tanzania is absolutely spectacular, and we are the foremost experts in this amazing country. We have been proud to develop an exceptional knowledge of this diverse and beautiful country over the last twenty years, and our consultants continually revisit each of the lodges and parks to stay ahead of the crowd.

Whether your dream is to experience an ultimate private safari experience in the Serengeti, or to fly into the wilds of the lesser-visited Selous or Ruaha National Parks, whether you would like to trek to see chimpanzees on the shores of Lake Tanganyika or soak up the best of the Indian Ocean beaches in Zanzibar, we will help you hone your options to create an ideal itinerary. Whatever sort of itinerary you choose, we can guarantee you a wonderful welcome.

We are the tanzania experts

A Tanzania holiday is a truly amazing experience.  Tanzania has some of the best wildlife viewing and safari experiences in all of Africa. The wildlife is thriving, the landscapes are stunning, and the Indian Ocean coastline and islands are simply breathtaking. This land has been our passion for many decades and we would love to tell you more.

We have specialised in tailor-made Tanzania holidays and Tanzania safaris since 1998. Our knowledge and experience guarantee you the very best possible itinerary for your travel dates and your budget, and your money is protected by our ATOL bond.

Our credentials speak for themselves: our M.D. Marc, is a judge of Safari Awards and a retired director of the African Travel and Tourism Association, and one of our Directors, Annabel, wrote the Cadogan Guide to Tanzania which we have partially reprinted on our site.  All our team have travelled extensively throughout Tanzania and revisit each year to keep their knowledge up to date. Over the years our company has won a number of awards, most recently from the British Travel Awards: Best Safari, Wildlife & Nature Holiday Company.

This website is a great place to start your research and planning: all the information has been written by us, so it is completely impartial - albeit often highly opinionated! However, the ideal way to work out your itinerary is by a face to face presentation in our offices in London, by phone, or we can arrange a virtual presentation which simply requires you to be sitting in front of a computer.  Alternatively, ask us for our our simple guide to Tanzania which will give you a good overview.

Tanzania Safari Holidays

A Tanzania safari is always a richly rewarding experience.  It offers outstanding wildlife viewing in true safari style with all the creature comforts you could possibly wish for, while ensuring an entirely authentic experience without hordes of tourists.

Tanzania Honeymoons

Tanzania is a fantastic honeymoon destination. The combination of incredible wildlife viewing and phenomenal beach retreats within such close proximity of each other guarantees a truly unforgettable honeymoon experience.

Family Safari Holidays

There is no better destination for your family safari than Tanzania. The safari and beach combination is easy, with lots of activities both on safari and at the beach, catering for all ages and interests. Go on a Southern Circuit adventure, and enjoy boat safaris, walking safaris and night drives in the beautifully rich combination of Ruaha and the Selous. On the beach, enjoy Zanzibar's vibrant culture and array of exciting marine and water activities - there is something for everyone!

and Tanzania’s other Indian Ocean islands are just a short hop away by light aircraft, and provide welcome options for relaxation and recuperation after a grand safari adventure. Tanzania is one of very few countries in the world where you can even easily enjoy a beach-safari-beach combination...

The Great Migration

One of the greatest natural events on the planet, the Serengeti's Great Wildebeest Migration is vast and thrilling. With 2 million wildebeest moving  across the dramatic acacia-dotted Serengeti plains in their continuous search for green pastures, this is truly a magnificant event to witness, and one which will create memories for a lifetime.

Top 5 reasons to go to Tanzania

1.  We mentioned it above but we'll say it again - the unparalleled Great Migration, which showcases nature at its most magnificent.
2.  Tanzania's fabulous Indian Ocean beaches - whether you stick with the mainland coast or opt for Zanzibar or one of the smaller islands, and whether you want to dive and snorkel or just flop on the sand, Tanzania has a beach that is perfect for you!
3.  Accommodation to suit every type of traveller - whatever your budget and travel style (hard-core thrill-seeking adventure? simple barefoot luxury? the very best of everything with all the bells and whistles?), Tanzania has the answer.
4.  A well-developed tourism infrastructure, which means it's easy to get around between the safari parks, and from safari to beach (and, if you want, back again) - you won't be wasting days trying to get from one element of your trip to the next.
5.  Truly excellent game viewing, including lots of the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo) and plenty of predators, at a variety of excellent safari parks and reserves (of which more below...)

Top 5 places to visit in Tanzania

1.  Africa's most famous National Park (and with good reason) - the Serengeti National Park surpasses expectations and is a worthy item on any bucket list!
2.  Bursting with history and culture, not to mention its glorious beaches, the spice island of Zanzibar should not be missed.
3.  The world's largest intact volcanic caldera, the Ngorongoro Crater is scenically stunning and a fabulous spot to see all the Big Five.
4.  For a different perspective on Tanzania, climb the majestic snow-tipped Mount Kilimanjaro.
5.  Avoid the crowds in the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater by travelling Tanzania's excellent southern safari circuit instead - including Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National Park

When to visit Tanzania

Tanzania's resident wildlife remains resident year-round so game viewing is available whenever you like.  However April and May can be rainy and are probably best avoided (especially if you are also visiting a beach), although there are some special offers available at this time.  Please see here for further information.
