Serena Dar Es Salaam

In most cases you would only use the Serena Dar es Salaam as a one night stop because your international flight details require it. Dar es Salaam does not offer much and therefore a hotel with all mod cons, in close proximity to the town centre (and golf course) is a welcome break from the town’s somewhat hectic atmosphere, however it does make a good jumpipn poin to any Tanzania Safari

Spend as little time as possible in Dar unless there are reasons to stay longer and the Dar es Salaam Serena is a great value hotel that serves a good purpose.

There are other options that could save you little money but the standards drop quite significantly.  If you want to go all out then stay at the Oyster Bay Hotel. In most cases you would only use Dar es Salaam as a one night stop because your international flight details require it.

Serena Dar es Salaam - The Facts

The Serena is only a 25 minute drive from Dar airport.  Close enough for convenience and far enough to know you are not in an airport hotel.

Situated in Dar es Salaam, this is one of Dar's best hotels, the top of the range in the town centre.  Its grand central elevation makes it a good landmark, and for years it has upheld its enviable position as the only upmarket, yet good value option in Dar (although this is now somewhat challenged).

Its pristine atmosphere is immaculately preserved by the chill of its air-conditioning throughout and with all the mod cons of a westernised hotel, including hairdressers, travel agents and a BA service desk, this is a good option for a night or two days in Dar.
The good patisserie is worth visiting for self-indulgent treats and the garden provides a pleasant and relaxing haven for a ludicrously expensive pot of tea or a beer.  There is also an attractive swimming pool set aside in private gardens overlooking Dar's best golf course.
