It is one of the larger accommodations on Zanzibar. It is almost in the same league as somewhere like Breezes, the hotel has a charming atmosphere and the rooms are great with a real vibrant atmosphere. We will stress though, this is a large resorts, it is not a luxury small hideaway.
Blue Bay Zanzibar offers comfortable accommodation in a large resort style, it provides amenities ranging from conference rooms to disco clubs and children clubs. The hotel also provides a Fitness Centre, a flood lit tennis court, 5 star PADI Scuba Diving Centre and a Water Sports Centre with windsurfers, canoes and sailing boats.
Bluebay Beach Resort offers 80 Superior rooms, 6 Deluxe rooms and 2 Sultan rooms, all of which enjoy magnificent views of the Indian Ocean. Each consists of spacious bedroom, separate dressing room, en-suite bathroom and verandah or balcony. All rooms are tastefully decorated using traditional Zanzibari furniture to include large four poster beds with mosquito nets, a writing bureau, coffee table and easy chairs. Split level air conditioners, ceiling fans, satellite TV's, mini-bars, hair dryers and telephones add a touch of luxury to each room. The Resort is committed to the preservation of the environment. For example, they employ reverse osmosis technology to purify underground water in order to make it fit for human consumption. This reduces the impact of the hotel on Zanzibar's fresh water resources. Bluebay Beach Resort has been officially recognized and commended by the Government of Zanzibar for its outstanding contribution to the preservation of the environment of the island. The Beach Bar and Restaurant, as the name implies, is situated on the very edge of the beautiful Indian Ocean and is an ideal place for guests to sip cold drinks or to enjoy a feast of seafood specialties, pizzas prepared in our authentic wood fired oven as well as other light fare, all served in an informal setting with toes in the sand and a magnificent thatched roof to shade guests from the hot tropical sun.
