Breezes Beach Club: Interesting Facts
Breezes Beach Club: In depth
Breezes is located on the south east of the island, on arguably the best stretch of beach around. Although it’s tidal, the fine white sand epitomises Zanzibar. Breezes has two sister hotels next door; Palms which has only six rooms and Baraza which has 30.
The main area is vast, comprising of one main large restaurant, which primarily acts as a buffet. There is also an inside main bar where a band sometimes plays (or a lone trumpeter). There are two other restaurants which you have to book and pay extra for. The central area consists of an enormous pool and day time bar where you can also order lunch. Between here and the main beach are sun loungers covered with small thatch roofs.
There are 3 different room categories; standard rooms, suites and deluxe suites. All categories are great value for money, differing in location and size. None of the rooms are sea front, and they are all housed in small blocks, with about 8 in a block. They have all the mod cons, including air-conditioning and lovely bathrooms and balconies.
Breezes has a very well equipped dive centre, tennis courts, pedalos, sailing boats, kite surfing and the most incredible spa facilities. Great for family Tanzania holidays. Other activities like trips to Stone Town can be arranged from the reception.

Zanzibar, North Coast
A truly fantastic hotel; without doubt one of the very best on the entire African coast. The beach here is very good and due to its location on the north tip of the island is very quiet as there are not hotels to the east of the location. Ras Nungwi offers good value for money on Zanzibar, excellent water sports great facilities and has consistently delivered over the years.
Zanzibar, East Coast
Blue Bay resort works very well for a more economical option in the large hotel category. It may be big but this hotel has everything you need and rather nice rooms given the low price. Most large cheaper hotels are notoriously bad but the Blue Bay Resort delivers a great product if you are not expecting the world! We do prefer Breezes Beach Club which is slightly more expensive and smaller in comparison but it is worth the little extra cost.
Zanzibar, Stone Town
One of the small luxury hotels of the world, the Serena Inn is not so in keeping with Stone Town’s character but quite frankly, that is a good thing! It offers a great escape from what can be quite a hectic little town. The pool is the nicest in Stone Town, with great views out to sea and a great place for sunset cocktails.
