For a large island hotel this place is not bad at all. It is big and commercial but excellent value for money, a great location and offers everything that all its competitor’s offer. Only Blue Bay and Ocean Paradise really pull off this category of hotel quite well. However, if you want something slightly smaller in comparison but still quite big, then look at Breezes Beach Club. A bit more money but well worth the extra cost.
Zanzibar Ocean Paradise
Ocean Paradise is located on Zanzibar’s North-East coast, about a 45 minute drive from Stone Town and the airport and makes for a fantastic
Tanzania beach holiday.
Each of the rooms are built like a traditional African roundhouse with all the creature comforts you need. The rooms are under a pitched makuti roof and each is sea facing with large patio doors that open up to a private balcony, where you can sit and take in the sedate pace of African life. The rooms are fully air conditioned with comfortable twin or king size beds with a mosquito netting. The bathrooms are modern and large.
The Ocean Paradise is a very colourful resort. As you enter the property the reception looks out over the sea, with coconut palms dotted around on a lovely white sandy beach. There is a huge swimming pool with a waterfall feature that dominates the central area. The Ocean restaurant sits two floors up and has great views of the ocean. Meals can also take place outside around the pool and outdoor communal area. There are also two smaller restaurants, the Jahazi and Mawinbi.
There is a great onsite dive centre with other activities such as windsurfing, kayaking and sailing. Trips to Stone Town can be organised from the reception, perfect for any
Tanzania family holiday. There is also a fitness centre, beach volley ball, table tennis and billiards.
