the Kempinski is the newest 5* hotel on the Island of Zanzibar and is the first of a truly world class calibre. All of the interiors has been personally designed by Philip Starke, the stylist for a few of New Yorks top hotels, and they lend the hotel an unsurpassed air of chic.

The hotel consists of a wide range of room types from the garden view rooms to the Presidential villa, which boasts a private 20 meter infinity pool. All are en-suite and have views to the sea. With a good selection of restaurants, a cafe and an a la carte, good food is assured.

The hotel is also proudly affiliated with one of the better dive operators on the island and has leisure facilities such as beach volley ball, sea kayaking and a renowned beauty spa.

Without doubt one of the most luxurious, westernised hotel on Zanzibar the Kempinski is a hotel for a specific market. For those wanting the opulent luxury of the Worlds finest resort hotels then the Kempinski is up their street. However for those of us wanting somewhere more unique and ultimately more African then there are a number of other much better alternatives. However, with all that said, this is arguably the best resort on the island, we cannot take that away from it!
