Our ranking is subjective (it is the office consensus, after much arguing), and tries to reflect value for money as well as overall quality. Therefore we may award just three stars to a 'five star' Zanzibar Hotel in the hotel tick-box sense, or five stars to a superb, unashamed 'three star' Tanzania Lodge that consistently provides superb quality experiences for the price. We care a great deal about location, whether in the bush or on the beach, and in many cases this has influenced our choice. It is unorthodox, it may seem at odds with the world view, but we can explain... and we urge you to call us to discuss!

We were very luck that we were able to see the great migration. All the plans were done with this intention, but I was a little bit afraid that something could happen and animals were not there. But they were!!!! It was absolutely spectacular!!! And now words to describe how wonderful the Dunia Camp team is. I´m in love of them!!! The hotel is comfortable, everything works perfectly and the service is more than perfect! It couldn´t be better! I hope I can have another opportunity to come back to Serengeti, but now to see the animals crossing the river Grumeti or Mara. Let´s see it. - Borner
Echo Beach we had a great time here, and it was really relaxing. Our lodge was very nice, and the food throughout was excellent. The staff were all really friendly although some of them were quite new and their English wasn't too good. One example of this was that a cocktail of the day was advertised at the bar but when we ordered it the barman didn't know how to make it so gave us something completely different! However whenever there was an issue the owners and management were more than willing to help resolve it. - J Savage
Absolutely unbelievable, i have been going on safari for 20 years and only ever seen a handful of kills, but at Namiri i saw 5 in 3 nights ! just the best !!!! – we will be back …- R Tilson
Entamanu is gorgeous. The wind was very strong this time of the year and we were told that people have found it very uncomfortable. Didn't bother us, and we liked being closer to the park entrance so we could get the earliest start possible. At Kuro, guests told us that the Crater was too crowded and that it was not a good experience but we found that while there more jeeps than in other parks, it was still wonderful. - M. Blanco
Our View
Opened in 2010, Ewanjan Tented Camp perfectly located in the central Serengeti area of the Seronera Valley, famous for its abundant resident game and large prides of predators. Ewanjan has a great setting away from the crowds, ideal to fully experience the wildlife of this area without constantly meeting another vehicle.Ewanjan is at its height when the migration rolls though the Seronera Valley, the camp also works perfectly when combining with its sister mobile camps in Ndutu from December to March and the Mara River between July and October.
Exploreans is one of the latest additions to the Ngorongoro Highland region and is becoming a firm favourite. With its proximity to the Crater gates, luxurious accommodation and reasonable rates, it is hard to find many negatives. As long as you are willing to forgo the more traditionally built and decorated lodges, you can’t go far wrong in terms of location and comfort.
Just what we were looking for. A true beach escape, with amazing fresh seafood and plenty of activities around the island like snorkeling, kayaking, and even a little scrabble. The bandas on the island were breathtaking. - K Corner
