Oyster Bay is the finest place to stay in Dar es Salaam. There are only 8 rooms, unlike the typically large hotel airports in Dar. The food and service is amazing. The rooms are massive and a welcome break from a safari or long haul flight. The Oyster Bay is not cheap at all and it’s only used as a one or two night stop, so if you are looking to save then we recommend one of the larger hotel airports like the Royal Palm.
In most cases you would only use the Serena Dar es Salaam as a one night stop because your international flight details require it.
Dar es Salaam does not offer much and therefore a hotel with all mod cons, in close proximity to the town centre (and golf course) is a welcome break from the town’s somewhat hectic atmosphere, however it does make a good jumping point to any
Tanzania Safari.
Hotel Slipway is ideally located just 7km from the Dar es Salaam city centre on the Msasani peninsula, right on the Indian Ocean overlooking Msasani Bay. It offers best value for money accommodation in this upmarket neighbourhood.
