Little Moru Camp

Little Moru is more understated compared to Nasikia Camps’ other offerings - but that’s arguably what makes it special. It offers an extremely intimate stay and throw-back safari experience, with barefoot luxuries like hot bucket showers and the mutterings campfire tales. It’s a brilliant option for those wanting a traditional safari experience in expert hands.

Little Moru Camp - The Facts

With only six tents, Little Moru will feel like a family during your stay, as you discuss the day’s adventures with other guests and share a sundowner drink while watching the sunset.

Set at the back of Nyaroboru Hill, the camp - with its compact main area - is surrounded by lazing acacia trees, and looks out onto a plain in front of camp which leads to fertile soils towards the Musabi River. These rich grasses mean wildlife will come from far and wide to drink on your doorstep, so the game viewing is fantastic year round.

This guaranteed pasture also attracts the Great Wildebeest Migration as they pass on their annual circular route around the Serengeti.
You’d be in with a chance of seeing these herds if you visit in June - October. There’s also a very special resident here - the endangered black rhino, closely guarded by rangers.

Little Moru is a true mobile camp, and only in situ from June 1 until October 31 each year, when the wildlife is best in the area and the going is good. While it’s very much a tented experience, you will be comfortable in a proper bed, with the additions of a small seating area, flushing loo, and a toasty bucket shower. Tents can be configured to suit your needs, and range from doubles to twins, singles, triple and quad family rooms.

It’s a wild experience staying in such a small, simple and slick safari set up - and not one to turn your nose up to in favour of a swimming pool or spa.
